Scotoni Mountain Hut

A beautiful and accessible hike to one of the most scenic mountain huts in the Dolomites.

The hike to Rifugio Scotoni is a relatively short but incredibly scenic route, offering the chance to reach a traditional mountain hut surrounded by spectacular Dolomite scenery without taking on a long or technically demanding trek.

From the very beginning, the trail takes us through a classic Alpine landscape of dramatic rock walls, mountain meadows and impressive peaks. It’s an ideal choice for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the Dolomites while enjoying a relaxed and accessible hike.

The trail gradually gains altitude along a wide and clearly visible path and requires no technical hiking skills. Thanks to its moderate gradient, the route is suitable for families with children as well as travelers looking to spend a few enjoyable hours surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery.

As we climb higher, the views become increasingly spectacular, with the surrounding peaks and rock formations creating an unforgettable backdrop. 

They are particularly beautiful in the soft morning light and during the famous Dolomite Enrosadira, when the mountains take on extraordinary shades of gold, pink and red at sunset.In summer, Alpine meadows bloom along the route and the air is filled with the scent of mountain herbs, adding to the peaceful atmosphere of the hike.
